Ear Candling
Have you ever heard of Ear Candling?
This is how it works. Ear Candling is a noninvasive procedure that generally takes about 30 to 45 minutes. You’ll be instructed to lay on your side, and your practitioner will gently insert the tapered end of the candle into your ear canal. Your practitioner will carefully light the candle and allow it to burn.
We use only the highest quality beeswax candles, typically nine to twelve inches long. The candle creates a vacuum that draws built-up ear wax and fungus into eh bottom part of the candle. After extinguishing the candle, the therapist will cut open the remnant and show you the contents.
Most people cannot believe the remaining contents extracted from the ear canal. The only responsibility you have is laying back and enjoying the calming, crackling sound of the candle for the next 10 to 15 minutes, on each ear.
Is it safe for Everyone?
The procedure is effective in both children and adults. However, it is not recommended for those with a perforated eardrum or tube in their ears.
Where does Ear Candling come from?
Ear Candling dates back to the year 2500 B.C. Ancient cultures, including the Egyptians, made reference to its use. Parchment scrolls discovered in the Orient have described the procedure for ear candling. The principal cloth used by ancient Egyptians was linen which was made from flax, and an annual blue-flowered plant.
