If you practice yoga you might experience the feeling that you're not getting the most out of group yoga classes at your yoga studio. Maybe you feel that you're not getting the individual attention you need from your yoga instructor, or that you're not able to progress as you'd like to in your yoga practice.
Is a Private Yoga Session Right For Me?
Whether you're an experienced yogi that has been practicing for many years, or you're a beginner just starting your yoga journey, you might have wondered if you would benefit from private yoga classes. Are private yoga lessons that much better than a group yoga class?
But what can you expect when you schedule a private yoga class? Here's a quick guide to help you understand the benefits of private yoga, and what you can expect from your first class.
When you schedule a private yoga session, you're committing to your physical health and overall well-being. Private yoga sessions offer many benefits that you won't find in a group yoga class. Yoga teachers are not able to give the same personalized attention and experience in group yoga lessons.
TriYoga Therapeutics provides healing, maintenance, and relaxation, helping those suffering from illness or injury, as well as all who enjoy slowing down, to release tension. Supported postures are held for several minutes and longer with rhythmic breathing and sustained focus, revealing the gift of a relaxed body and a calm mind.
We are filled with excitement to host a State College phenomenal experienced and senior TriYoga teacher.
Discover a new perspective on yoga as you meet the physical and subtle practices of TriYoga®. Senior TriYoga teacher Theresa Shay will introduce TriYoga, exploring the systematic approach to health, happiness, and wisdom that is accessible to all bodies. Founded by internationally renowned Yogini Kaliji (Kali Ray), TriYoga is taught in 40+ countries. Theresa is the Founding Director of TriYoga of Central Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization located in the State College area. (If you are curious about TriYoga with Theresa check out her regular schedule of online classes and private sessions and via Zoom through TriYoga of Central Pennsylvania, in the link above).
For over 20 years, the yoga teachers of TriYoga® of Central Pennsylvania have been sharing the gifts of healing and relaxation through the practice of yoga in State College. Based on Theresa’s experience as a teacher and student, she believes in the power of yoga to transform bodies, minds, spirits, and lives. We are all yoga students. We're friends and neighbors, thick and thin, bendy and tight, young and old, dabblers and experts. She believes yoga improves lives no matter what brings you in the door, how often you practice, or how far you take it. As a certified yoga teacher, she is trained to help bodies expand safely and comfortably into new possibilities through all stages of life. Theresa’s dedicated yoga teachings provide a peaceful, vibrant, and welcoming environment to support your journey.
This weekend will include presentations, practices, Q&A, and chanting (kirtan). Theresa will also offer 1:1 sessions during the weekend for those looking for individual instruction. We have different pages for all of these events. See links below
What is TriYoga®?
TriYoga, the art, and science of yogaflow®, is the dynamic, meditative trinity of asana, pranayama, and mudra. Prana-inspired and systematically introduced, Tri Yoga unites breath and mudra with flowing and sustained postures. It has the inherent qualities of rhythmic pacing, relaxation-in-action, wavelike spinal movements, and economy of motion. Students can remain with Basics (108 posture sequences) or continue to Level 1 and subsequent levels. Within each level, students develop precise natural alignment, strength, flexibility, endurance, and a longer, more rhythmic breath. When the movement of the body, breath, and mudra harmonize, the inner flow of prana is experienced. Continued practice makes the body~mind a fit instrument for meditation and for life.
